Swire Seabed boosts Commercial Team as part of its global plans
to expand their subsea business
Bergen, 01 February 2018 – Swire Seabed is pleased to welcome two new members to its
Commercial Team, Mark Colbridge as Commercial Manager, Middle East & Asia Pacific and Are
Nordahl as Head of Sales in Swire Seabed.
Mark commenced work on Monday, 8 January 2018 and is based in Singapore at the newly
established Swire Seabed Singapore office, making this the first appointment of an employee in
the Asia Pacific region. The office is located within Swire Pacific Offshore’s (SPO) Head office.
In his new role, Mark will be responsible for spearheading business development, marketing and
sales efforts of Swire Seabed in the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions. Reporting to the CEO
of Swire Seabed, Arvid Pettersen, who is based in Bergen, Norway, Mark will also work closely
with various business entities within SPO to market and promote Swire Seabed’s diverse range
of subsea project services.
Mark has a wealth of more than 20 years of experience in operations, technical, project
engineering, business development in subsea, marine and Oil & Gas industry and has worked in
the UK and Singapore. Prior to joining Swire Seabed, he was the Business Acquisition Manager
at DOF Subsea Pte Ltd Asia Pacific at their Singapore office for more than six years.
In parallel, Are Nordahl was appointed Head of Sales and commenced work on 1 December 2017.
Based in Bergen, Norway, Are will be instrumental in driving sales and strategic business
development for Swire Seabed in the Americas, Europe and West Africa markets.
Over the past 30 years, Are’s professional experience in the Oil & Gas industry has spanned
sales, marketing, business development and project engineering. Are comes to Swire Seabed
from OneSubsea, a Schlumberger Company, where he held the roles of Regional Manager, Africa
and Sales Manager, Asia Pacific for their pumps and subsea systems. Prior to that, he was
President at Framo Engineering Inc. in Houston for seven years where he held executive
responsibility and oversaw all contract negotiations in North America.

To further accommodate their growing shore-based organisation, Swire Seabed has also
increased their office space in Bergen by 50%. All in all, Swire Seabed now employs more than
250 personnel including offshore project and marine crew as well as back office personnel in Baku
